Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) is a program designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills required to address life-threatening conditions that can arise during childbirth. The program focuses on safe, low-tech interventions that can be administered by skilled providers at peripheral health center and district hospital levels
The course covers topics such as Respectful Maternity Care in Emergencies, Rapid Assessment and Management, Prevention and Management of Postpartum Hemorrhage, Manual Removal of the Placenta, Skills Practice, Transport, among others.
The course is designed to provide participants with key technical and programmatic considerations in the implementation of life-saving interventions .
